Abofra School in Nhyiaeso Sub Metro, Kumasi, is breathing a sigh of relief after receiving a donation of five packets of roofing sheets from the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) and the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) Ashanti Region.

The school had suffered a devastating fire disaster on January 30, 2026, which destroyed part of its infrastructure, leaving students and teachers without adequate learning spaces. However, with the support of the Regional Director of NADMO Ashanti, the KMA and NADMO Ashanti Region have stepped in to provide much-needed assistance.

The donation, made on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, is expected to go a long way in helping the school rebuild and continue providing education to its students. The proprietors of the school have expressed their heartfelt gratitude to NADMO and KMA for their timely intervention.

“We are grateful to NADMO and KMA for their support during this difficult time. The donation of roofing sheets will help us to rebuild and ensure that our students can continue their education without interruption,” said a spokesperson for the school.
This act of kindness demonstrates the commitment of KMA and NADMO to supporting communities affected by disasters and promoting education in the region. It also highlights the importance of collaboration and partnership in addressing the needs of vulnerable communities.
