The Minister nominee for the Ashanti Region, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has stated that in order to capture the region, he is advocating for the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) to focus on developing the region during the first three years of their term in office.
Dr. Amoakohene said, “At least we have four years; if all things are equal, let’s use the first three years to develop the region.”
He added, “We can achieve everything we want in the election year, but if we commit all hands on deck within the first three years, we will be able to turn things around for the betterment of the region.”
Acknowledging that the Ashanti region is a stronghold of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Amoakohene emphasized that his best approach would be to work closely with various sectors of the NDC government to bring development to the region, as this would help build support for the party.
