“Jachie Chief Warns Youth Against Drug Abuse, Pushes for Development”

As part of a strategic effort to create a sustainable and brighter future for the younger generation, Ghanaian youth have been advised to desist from taking non-prescribed drugs, which could have a far reaching consequences on their general well-beings.

The Chief of Jachie in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region Baffour Kwaku Amoateng IV, charged the youth to stay away from these illegal drugs since they pose significant health risks including lung or heart disease, stroke, cancer, mental disorder, and respiratory system challenges as a result of drug addiction.

Baffour Amoateng advised the younger generation to practice a healthy lifestyle and also pursue education that would help them take up leadership mantles in the future.

He gave the admonishing in his maiden speech during a ceremony held to raised fund for the construction of College of Education.

The visibly worried Chief asked the youth a rhetorical question about lives of those drinking, inhaling and smoking.

“Maybe the doctor might prescribe some drugs for you due to some conditions, but that does not give you the privilege to abuse them. Drink what has been ordered for you and eat what is supposed to be eaten, but do not abuse it,” Baffour Kwaku Amoateng IV said.

He took advantage of the occasion to assure the residents of Jachie of his readiness and commitment to collectively and individually support the development of the area.

He further complained about exorbitant fares been charged them by commercial drivers plying the road from Esreso to Jachie through Kuntenase.

For this, the Chief of Jachie is appealing to the Roads and Highways Ministry to as a matter of urgency work on their deplorable road network and bring it into proper shape to ease movement from one community to the other.

Meanwhile, the District Chief Executive, Hon Engineer Abdellah Amidu has expressed optimism that all uncompleted road projects in the constituency will be completed.

Hon Abdella acknowledged the hardships faced by his constituents due to poor road conditions.

He said, “I understand the people’s frustration. When you look at Bosomtwe, the road construction ended at Abidjan Nkwanta.

Government has finished all paper works and contractor will be on the site very soon.
