COCOA PROCESSING COMPANIES THE COUNTRY ARE LIKELY TO IMPORT COCOA FOR PRODUCTION FROM NEXT YEAR – ERIC OPOKU DISCLOSED

Ranking member of Food, Agriculture and Cocoa Affairs Committee and member of parliament MP for Asunafo South in Ahafo regoin,
Hon. Eric Opoku has disclosed that cocoa processing companies in the country are likely to start importing cocoa to sustain their productions due to massive decline in cocoa production.
Speaking with kingdomnewsgh.com in an interview in Parliament he indicated that there has been significant reduction in cocoa production in the country this year compared to the he past ten years which has shows that the people put in charge have failed to live up to expectations.
He said that the only remedy for cocoa production is change the government in charge and allow the NDC government who has shown better how to handle such situations.
