This year’s West African Senior Schools Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) is scheduled to start today, Monday, August 1 with project work subjects. According to the schedule of examining body West African Examinations Council (WAEC), the exams will finish on Tuesday, September 27


As part of the social responsibility, the chief of Jachie, Baffour Kweku Amoateng iv has visited Jachie Pramso SHS to advise the students who are writing the 2022 WASSCE as they begin their paper today.
Speaking to the students , Baffour Kweku Amoateng iv said the students should desist from behaviors like smoking, drinking,womanizing and other social vices. He also said they should not practice LGBTQ+, if any of them are into such activities, they should desist because it’s a shameful act, as well as stealing and disrespecting teachers.
He added that those students who are from poor backgrounds are the ones that are mostly guilty of these crimes. Therefore they must stop for God to bless them if they want His blessings. Adding to this, he also advised them not to engage in any form of examination malpractices.

The headmaster of Jachie Pramso SHS, Kingford Opoku also believed that the advice the Chief gave the children would be taken in good faith and will be adhered to. He added again that some students and parents are ungrateful to the government because the government is actually paying for all expenses of the child. He urged that parents must show gratitude to the government for their efforts.

Meanwhile a total of 422,883 candidates from 977 schools have registered for the exams. There will be 72 with visual impairment and 14 with hearing impairment. In all 60 subjects, comprising four cores and 56 electives, will be written by candidates. The first core subject will be the English Language Orals on Monday, August 29 while its essay and objective papers will be written on Thursday, September 8.
