*Executives of the Queen Mothers Association Call on Dr. Akoto*

The executives of the Queen Mothers Association paid a courtesy call on Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, Minister for Food and Agriculture at The Ministry Of Food And Agriculture, Ghana to discuss ways in which the Ministry can assist to improve Agriculture in their various communities.

As farmers and owing to the development of their subjects, they sought the Ministry’s help to increase women and youth participation in the field of Agriculture using the government’s flagship programme, Planting for Food and Jobs(PFJ). In addition, they would like to ensure food security remains a priority while preventing food wastage. They are ready to collaborate with the Ministry by providing suitable lands to pursue collective Agriculture projects for women in terms of cashew production, pawpaw production, among others.

Again, they commended Dr. Akoto for using his position to cause a turnaround in the sector as seen with the abundance of food in the system.
