The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO),at Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, led by Metro Director Mr. Godwin Dela Larho engaged the Kwadaso Estate Community market on International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction (IDDRR).

The event aimed to educate the public on disaster risks and prevention strategies.

Mr. Dela Larho and his able team highlighted the increasing frequency of disasters in the Metropolitan, particularly in Markets and our communities.

He cited Gas accidents, as a major concern, noting the loss of life and the need for improved rescue capabilities. He pointed out the lack of essential equipment, such as motorable boats, as a significant challenge, which hampered rescue efforts in past incidents.

Furthermore, Mr. Godwin Dela cautioned against the sale of inappropriate fuel, which can lead to disasters. He warned that anyone found to be causing or contributing to disasters in the region would face legal consequences.

In addition,Mr Larho urged the Nhyiaso sub Metro NADMO workers to intensify their efforts in educating farmers, Market, fishermen, and students about disaster management. This includes focusing on preventing road accidents, and bush fires within their communities.
