The Tree Crops Development Authority (TCDA) participated in the maiden Cashew and Oil Palm Policy Dialogue, highlighting the immense potential of these sectors to create jobs, diversify exports, and improve livelihoods in Ghana. The event, organized by NIRAS and TCDA under the Ghana Private Sector Competitiveness Program II (GPSCP II), aimed to build an enabling policy environment for developing a competitive oil palm and cashew sector.
Dr. Andy Osei Okrah, CEO of TCDA, emphasized the authority’s commitment to ensuring transparency, regulations, and licensing across six selected tree crops.
TCDA is strengthening collaboration with government agencies, such as the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and Customs Division, to improve monitoring and enforcement of TCDA’s export commodities.

The event featured keynote addresses and remarks from high-profile participants, including Mr. Paul Siamah, Chief Director of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA), Ms. Julian Ofori Karikari, Team Lead of GPSCP II, and Magdalena Wüst, Deputy Head of Cooperation at the Swiss Embassy in Ghana.
The dialogue highlighted the immense potential of the oil palm and cashew sectors to create jobs, diversify exports, and improve livelihoods in Ghana, and marked a significant step towards achieving this goal.
