“* – *”Strengthening Disaster Management: NADMO KMA Office Conducts Training on Imprest Utilization”*

The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) office recently conducted a training session for Sub-Metro Directors, Deputy Directors, Administrators, and Accountants on September 10, 2025.

The training focused on expenditure management and proper utilization of imprest to promote transparency, accountability, and prudent financial management within the sub-metros.

Expenditure Management*: Participants received guidance on managing expenditures and utilizing imprest effectively to avoid financial misappropriation.

 Emphasis was placed on adhering to laid-down procedures and national policies to ensure accountability and transparency in financial management.


– *Teamwork*: The importance of working together as a team to ensure a harmonious environment and collective public financial management adherence was stressed.

NADMO aims to enhance the capacity of society to prevent and manage disasters, improving livelihoods through effective disaster management, social mobilization, and employment generation. The organization’s motto, “NADMO Prevention Pays,” highlights the importance of proactive measures in financial management and administrative roles.¹ ²

The training is expected to improve efficiency and credibility in the respective offices of the participants. By strengthening financial management and administrative capacities, NADMO can better achieve its objectives of disaster prevention, preparedness, and response.³

The training was organized under the leadership of Metro Director, Mr. Godwin Dela Larho, whose commitment to capacity building and good governance has been instrumental in strengthening NADMO’s operations in the metropolis.⁴
