Back to Class: Kumasi Mayor Orders Encroachers Off Public School Lands

The Mayor of Kumasi, Hon. Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi, has directed the immediate eviction of all encroachers from public school lands across the metropolis.

This follows his recent tour of basic schools, where he observed worrying levels of encroachment being used for unauthorized activities including shelter, trading, mechanic work, drug peddling, and religious gatherings, posing serious threats to safety, sanitation, and academic focus.

The Mayor has tasked NADMO, Physical Planning, and the Works Department to take swift action to reclaim all affected lands and restore a conducive learning environment for pupils and teachers.

So far, visits have been made to schools in Subin, Bantama, Manhyia South, and North, including Asem, Amankwatia, and State Boys/Girls clusters.

The exercise continues in the coming days.
