The Business Development Manager of the biggest compost and Recycling Plant in Africa-KCARP, Eugene Amo-Asamoah has been honoured with the Youth in Environment Award at prestigious Millennium Excellence Awards.
The event was held at the Manhyia Palace on 9th May 2025 by the Millennium Excellence Foundation, an NGO that recognizes and rewards outstanding achievements in various fields of endeavor.
The life patron of this foundation, His Royal Majesty, Otumfour Osei Tutu II, Asantehene and His distinguished Executive Board conferred this prestigious recognition on Eugene for his leadership and drive within the environmental and climate sustainability space. Eugene’s career is marked by pioneering contributions to waste management and recycling, driving business growth and innovation within the industry.
He has implemented sustainable waste management projects across several communities within the country and beyond. His leadership extends to developing and executing comprehensive waste management plans for institutions and organizations, offering technical assistance to both government agencies and private sector firms. His commitment to environmental stewardship is evident through his advocacy for regulated and environmentally compliant waste collection methods.
He has initiatives that allows communities to be both clean and economically empowered.
Interviewing him after the awards he was very humbled and thankful to all team members who have contributed their quota in helping him attain this feat and also called for a collaborative deliberate effort to ensure a better environment for all.
He said ” I am very humbled and honoured to have received the Highest Honour Award (Youth in Environment). My heartfelt gratitude goes to HRM, Otumfour Osei Tutu II, Asantehene and His distinguished Executive Board for this prestigious recognition. I would also like to thank the Executive Chairman of the Jospong Group, Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong for his mentorship and guidance and also thank all colleagues, team members and staff for the various roles they’ve played in making this possible.
I would also want to thank my wife and kids for their unflinching support over the years. We all need to be responsible for our environment and as such I would want to invite everyone to join me in the quest to making the environment a better place for all.”
He also added that, the recognition will serve as a motivation to keep up with the good works he’s been doing.
