Amenfi West Dr. Gordon Sarfo Adu: A Multi-Disciplinary Expert Takes the Helm as HR Director at the Forestry Commission

The President of the Republic, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, has appointed Dr. Gordon Kofi Sarfo-Adu as the Acting Human Resource Director of the Forestry Commission (FC), effective February 2025.
This appointment is a significant development in the FC’s efforts to strengthen its human resource management and development.
Dr. Sarfo-Adu is a highly qualified professional with a strong background in human resource management and development.
He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Public Administration and Policy Management from the University of Ghana, Business School (UGBS), as well as several other academic qualifications, including a Master’s degree in International Relations and Development from the University of Cape Coast and a Master’s degree in Environmental Management and Policy from the University of Lund, Sweden.
Dr. Sarfo-Adu has worked at the Forestry Commission for over 14 years, holding various positions, including Corporate Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation Manager, and Business Planning Manager at the Forest Services Division.
 He has also served as the Head of Projects and Donor Relations from 2017 to 2019. His experience and expertise in human resource management and development make him an ideal candidate for the position of Acting Human Resource Director.
Dr. Sarfo-Adu has a strong track record of achievement in his previous roles. He successfully formulated strategic objectives for the Forest Services Division within the framework of the FC’s vision and mission.
He also earned the position of Head of Projects and Donor Relations due to his diligence and hard work. His appointment as Acting Human Resource Director is a testament to his capabilities and dedication to the FC.
As the Acting Human Resource Director, Dr. Sarfo-Adu intends to build a resilient organization that meets the challenges of today and paves the way for a sustainable future for forestry.
