Some residents of Buokrom in the Manhyia North Constituency have rejected claims by their Assembly Member Hon. Kofi Agyapong Fredrick that the Member Of Parliament and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources Hon Akwasi Konadu has neglected them.
Speaking to the media, they said it came as a shock to them when they heard their Assembly Member on Oyerepa FM saying the MP has denied them with projects. They told journalists their MP who is now in his fourth year has channelled many developmental projects to the area.
Recounting some of the projects, the residents mentioned Bore Hole water projects, street lights, roofing of Buokrom Block A school, Painting of Block B KG and nursery block, scholarship for about 90 students within Buokrom, jobs for some youth etc.
According to the residents, the delay of the roads within the area cannot be attributed to the MP because shop owners and some landlords failed to remove their containers for the contractor to do his job. ‘ some shop owners cursed the contractors and the case ended in “Antoa” how then do you blame our MP if the contractor has moved from site’?.
They took the opportunity to advise the media to be careful since they know their Assembly Member is an NDC member and could go all out to tarnish the image of the MP.
On his part the headmaster of Buokrom Block A Basic School Mr. Boamah said his school and teachers are greateful to the MP for roofing their school, providing furniture, bore hole water, and sometimes assisting them financially to support their cause.
The headmistress of Buokrom Block B School also added her voice by appreciating the MP for his support especially during this year’s 6th March celebration when he gave them 10,000 cedis and painting of their KG and nursery block.
The residents again thanked their MP Hon Akwasi Konadu for his prompt response to their challenges and his humility and prayed he wins massively come December 7th to continue what he has started.
