As members of the National Democratic Congress prepare to elect national executives of the party, a team of 38 constituency chairmen from the Ashanti Region, have come out to declare their unflinching support for Mr. Ofosu Ampofo.
The move is to drive home the message that majority of the chairmen from the various regions to appreciate what Mr. Ofosu Ampofo aka (Chairman 4 chairman) has done for party since he was voted into office as National Chairman.
Addressing a press conference today at the regional headquarters of the party, their Coordinator who doubles as the Nhyiaeso Constituency Chairman, Mr Ernie Afayam said they want Mr Ampofo to win because of his track record.
Some of the constituency Chairmen who were at the press conference were Manhyia North, Manhyia South, Effiduase, Kwadaso, Atwima Nwabiagya North, Juaben, and Kumawu, Asokwa, constituencies among others.
While describing Ampofo as an abled and strategic thinker at the regional headquarters when Mr Ampofo took his campaign tour to the region, Mr Afayam said he executed an unprecedented job in the 2020 general elections.
The gap between the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), he said was closed from one million to 500,000 votes in the 2020 general elections and was able to increase the party’s seats in parliament from 106 to 137.
He said Mr Ampofo has established goodwill with all the branch executives in the region and for that reason, they will vote massively for him in the national delegates conference for him to continue his work.
