The Chief Executive Officer of the Tree Crops Development Authority, Dr. Andy Osei Okrah, joined the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, key Government Officials, Diplomats, Business Leaders, Traditional Leaders, and the people of the Asante Kingdom to commemorate the third Akwasidae Festival on Sunday.
The occasion also marked a grand dual commemoration by the Occupant of the Golden Stool, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, in celebration of his 27th anniversary on the revered Golden Stool. The event was held at the Dwabrem Grounds within the Manhyia Palace.
The dual celebration underscored both the cultural significance of the Akwasidae Festival and the enduring legacy of Otumfuo’s nearly three decades of leadership.
Clad in rich kente and adorned with symbolic regalia, the Asantehene sat in state as Nananom and the masses paid homage in accordance with custom.
