Ghana’s 2025/2026 cashew trading season has officially opened, with the Tree Crops Development Authority (TCDA) assuring stakeholders of excellent quality raw cashew nuts.
Speaking at a panel discussion during the 12th World Cashew Conference in Dubai, TCDA CEO Hon. Dr. Andy Osei Okrah dismissed earlier claims of poor quality, citing strong quantity and standards for the season.
Dr. Osei Okrah encouraged traders and investors to participate in the market, highlighting Ghana’s structured and traceable cashew supply chain, underpinned by a regulatory framework enforced by the TCDA. “We have a high expectation of good outturn (KOR) as it has always been in every year,” he said.
The minimum producer price for raw cashew nuts was set at GH¢12 per kilogram for the 2025/2026 season, following stakeholder engagement and considering global market trends, production forecasts, and quality standards. Dr. Osei Okrah assured buyers and stakeholders that cashew production this season will be reliable and compliant with international quality requirements.
Ghana’s cashew industry has grown significantly over the years, with the country emerging as a major player in the global cashew market. The TCDA’s efforts to regulate the industry and support farmers have contributed to this growth, and stakeholders are optimistic about the season ahead.
