*“Show of Force” Exercise and Graduation Highlight Nation’s Security Readiness*

Deputy minister of Defence,  Hon Brogya Genfi  stood shoulder‑to‑shoulder with Ghana’s security services in the “Show of Force” exercise, a coordinated operation aimed at reassuring the public that the nation will enjoy a safe, peaceful Christmas season.

Far from an act of intimidation, the exercise was a visible demonstration of capability and resolve, featuring joint patrols, rapid‑deployment drills, and public briefings by the Armed Forces, Ghana Police Service, Prisons Service, Immigration Service, Customs Division, and Fire Service.

During the ceremony, I extended heartfelt commendation to the men and women of these agencies for their relentless sacrifices and unwavering commitment. “While we celebrate, they remain on duty to ensure an incident‑free festivity,” I said, acknowledging the tireless efforts that keep the country secure day and night.

Special thanks were conveyed to Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Lieutenant General Thomas Oppong‑Peprah, Inspector General of Police (IGP) George Akuffo Dampare, and all Service Chiefs for their exemplary leadership. Their strategic direction, I noted, is the backbone of the nation’s security architecture.

Later in the week, I had the honor of attending the graduation ceremony at the National College for Defence Studies (NCDS). The ceremony marked a milestone for senior officers who completed rigorous training designed to sharpen strategic and operational acumen. “Congratulations to our senior officers on this milestone achievement. Your dedication strengthens Ghana’s future,” I remarked, urging the graduates to apply their new skills in safeguarding national stability and development.

The dual events underscore the government’s commitment to a secure environment for citizens and visitors alike as the festive season approaches. Authorities say the “Show of Force” will continue in scaled‑down forms through the holidays, with heightened vigilance at key public venues and border points.
