The appointment committee of Ghana’s Parliament has today vetted president Akufo Addo’s Lands and Natural Resources Deputy Minister nominee Hon. Akwasi Konadu.
The chairman of the committee Hon. Joe Wise welcome the nominee by saying ‘ I believe you are more than capable of handling this position, I know you can deliver to perfection.
He therefore advised the nominee not to forget about his constituents since they elected him to parliament.
The NDC ranking members on the committee Hon. Armah Kofi Buah and Avedzi were also excited about president decision to nominate him to the ministry. According to Hon Buah, he has no doubt the nominee can bring transformation to the ministry and urged him to work as a deputy minister to support his minister to ensure success at the ministry.
Hon Avedzi advised the nominee to help curb the galamsey activities in the country since it is having dire consequences on our water bodies.
The nominee’s character and experience in responding to the questions made most of the members in the committee decided not to waste their time in asking questions.
The overwhelming recommendation from the committee members believing in his abilities and respect for his colleagues did not let them exceed an hour during the vetting only to encourage him to work harder to achieve more.
In attendance to support the nominee were MCE for Tafo Hon Lord Inusah, DCE for Amansie Central Hon Kwame Poku ( CID), NPP Bantama Chairman, Tafo Chairman and Manhyia North Chairman.
Also many chiefs and queen mothers from the Ashanti region were there to support him including party faithfuls.
