TCDA Signs Two (2) Strategic MOUs to Drive Beekeeping Innovation and Land Reclamation to Restore Degraded Lands to enhance economic growth in Ghana’s Tree Crops Sector

Under the leadership of the Chief Executive Officer of the Tree Crops Development Authority (TCDA), Dr. Andy Osei Okrah, TCDA has signed two strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Pan-African Business Developers (PABD) and Save Our Lands Projects LBG (SOL) to drive innovation in integrating beekeeping into tree crop farming systems and land reclamation to restore degraded lands.

FIRST MOU: TCDA and Pan-African Business Developers (PABD), driving Innovation Through the BEEIN Project, TCDA signed its first strategic MoU with Pan-African Business Developers (PABD) to implement the “Bees for Income and Nutrition (BEEIN) Project,” a transformative initiative aimed at integrating beekeeping into tree crop farming systems.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Andrews Osei Okrah, Chief Executive Officer of TCDA, and Mr. Kirk Agyekum, Chief Executive Officer of PABD.

This collaboration aligns strongly with TCDA’s strategic focus on production enhancement, value chain development and sustainability. By introducing beekeeping into the tree crop ecosystem, the initiative is expected to create additional income streams for farmers and promote environmentally sustainable farming practices.

SECOND MOU: TCDA and Save Our Lands Projects LBG (SOL), advancing Land Reclamation and Rubber Plantation Development, TCDA’s second MoU was signed with Save Our Lands Projects LBG (SOL) to implement a 10-hectare pilot land reclamation rubber plantation project.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Andy Osei Okrah, Chief Executive Officer of TCDA, and Mr. Aaron Agyapong, Executive Director of SOL.
This initiative directly supports TCDA’s broader strategy of expanding and transforming Ghana’s tree crops sector through sustainable and inclusive approaches.

The project is expected to boost rubber production and value addition, generate jobs and empower local communities.

Together, these two MoUs reinforce TCDA’s commitment to innovation, scaling up production, sustainability and inclusive economic transformation under the leadership of the Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Andy Osei Okrah.
