*1985 Alumnus Gifts Modern Marker Boards to Jachie Anglican Primary, Calls for More Support*

Jachie, Ghana –_ In a nostalgic gesture that also serves a practical purpose, a former student of Jachie Anglican D/A Primary School has donated a set of modern marker boards to his alma mater.

Baffour Kwaku Amoateng Jachiehene, who graduated in the class of 1985, presented the boards during a ceremony marking the 40‑year anniversary of his graduation year.

Speaking to the media after the hand‑over, Jachiehene explained that the old chalkboards, which have been in use since his school days, have become a health concern for pupils. “I want to bring fun into every classroom and eliminate the eye problems caused by chalk,” he said.“

The new marker boards are brighter, easier to read and far safer for the children’s eyes.”

The donation is part of a broader effort by the 1985 year‑group to give back to the school that shaped them.

Abusuapanin Kofi Kyei Baffour, chairman of the class of 1985, pledged continued support and urged fellow alumni to join the initiative.“We are committed to helping our school grow,” he said. “We hope other former students will see this as an invitation to contribute in whatever way they can.”

Rev. Enoch Amankwah, headmaster of St Andrew’s Anglican Primary, thanked the donors and highlighted the importance of community involvement beyond government funding. “The generosity of our alumni reminds us that education is a shared responsibility,” he said.“

These marker boards will improve the learning environment and, more importantly, show our students that they have a network of supporters invested in their future.”

The new boards will be installed in several classrooms immediately, with plans to replace the remaining chalkboards in the coming months.

The school hopes the upgraded facilities will enhance teaching and learning, while also encouraging other batches to follow suit.

The 40‑year celebration, which included a modest reception for former classmates, underscored the enduring bond between the school and its alumni. As the community looks ahead, the hope is that such acts of kindness will become a regular feature of Jachie Anglican Primary’s development story.
