NADMO KMA Promotes Disaster Prevention in Schools

NADMO KMA recently participated in the Conference of Heads of Public Basic Schools in Kumasi, held on October 3rd, 2025, at the KASS Conference Hall.

The purpose of their attendance was to educate head teachers about NADMO’s core mandate and its relevance to safety in schools. Additionally, they took the opportunity to introduce their plan to create Disaster Volunteer Groups (DVGs) in schools, aiming to equip students with disaster prevention knowledge.

NADMO KMA’s initiative focuses on equipping students with disaster prevention knowledge, promoting a culture of safety in schools.

Head teachers welcomed NADMO KMA’s initiative and agreed to host them in their respective schools, fostering a collaborative approach to disaster prevention.

The creation of DVGs in schools aims to empower students to take an active role in disaster prevention and response, promoting a sense of responsibility and community engagement.

NADMO KMA’s efforts are expected to have a positive impact on disaster prevention and safety in schools, ultimately contributing to a safer and more resilient community. By working together with schools and empowering students, NADMO KMA can help reduce the risk of disasters and promote a culture of safety and preparedness.

The success of this initiative relies on the collaboration between NADMO KMA, schools, and the community. With this joint effort, Ghana can take a significant step towards creating a safer and more disaster-resilient society.
