“Shea Sector Gets Boost as TCDA CEO Collaborates with Dagbon Traditional Council”

Dr. Andy Osei Okrah, CEO of the Tree Crops Development Authority (TCDA), embarked on a mission to the Northern Region to commemorate the 2025 World Shea Expo. His first stop was a courtesy call on the King of Dagbon, His Royal Majesty N-Dan Ya-Na Abukari II.

The two leaders engaged in a fruitful discussion, focusing on strategic measures to protect and develop the shea sector. Dr. Okrah emphasized the importance of community education and bushfire prevention, while the King pledged to organize a durbar to mobilize chiefs and communities.

The King’s commitment to the cause was palpable, and Dr. Okrah left the meeting feeling optimistic about the future of the shea industry. His next meeting with the Yendi Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Sugri Muniry, further solidified the TCDA’s efforts to strengthen the shea sector.

As the World Shea Expo approached, the stage was set for a celebration of the shea industry’s potential. With the support of traditional leaders and government officials, the TCDA was poised to make a lasting impact on the lives of shea farmers and communities across the Northern Region.
