“Ahodwo Fire Disaster: NADMO Donates Relief Items to Victims”

A devastating fire incident occurred on July 9, 2025, at Ahodwo, near the Roman Catholic Church in Kumasi, leaving approximately 400 people without their belongings. In response to the crisis, the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) stepped in to provide relief to the victims.

On July 25, 2025, the Kumasi Metro Director of NADMO, Mr. Godwin Dela Larho, and two Regional Deputies, Miss Beatrice Tagborloh-Nabat and Mr. Ahmed Tijani Abubakr, led a donation drive to support the affected individuals.

The relief items included essential goods such as blankets, cups, basins, used clothes, and buckets.

The donation ceremony allowed the victims to express their gratitude to the Government and NADMO for their generosity. Leaders chosen by the victims received the items on their behalf, serving as a gesture of comfort during a difficult time.

During the event, the Metro Director and Regional Deputies took the opportunity to educate the victims on disaster prevention. They emphasized the importance of safety measures and cautioned against the risks associated with using gas cookers, heaters, and candles.

While the donation provided immediate relief, it was acknowledged that further assistance would be necessary to help the victims fully recover from the fire incident. The gesture demonstrated the commitment of NADMO and the Government to supporting those in need.
