Three communities in the Ahafo Ano South West District of the Ashanti Region were hooked onto the national electricity grid on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.
The District Chief Executive, Mr. Abubakar Sedik commissioned the projects at Ohia Nhye Da, Mmrobem and Barniekrom Nyamebekyere.
The project is under the auspices of Rural Electrification Project through the Ministry of Energy.
Commissioning the electricity, Mr. Abubakar Sedik, the District Chief Executive said the commissioning of electricity in the communities will improve education and economic activities in the areas.
He urged the community members to always call on qualified electricians to help solve their electricity problems to avoid fire disasters in their homes, and shops.
In an interview with the media, Mr. Abubakar Sedik assured the people of Ahafo Ano South West District that, every community in the District will have electricity by the end of 2028.
Some members of the community expressed their gratitude to the Nana Addo-led administration in commencing the project. Also, they thanked the John Dramani Mahama administration for completing the project after being in darkness for years.
