Kumasi Market Queens pledged Support for Ashanti Regional Minister to Succeed

The Queen Mother at the various markets in Kumasi has pledged their unflinching support to Dr Frank Amoakohene, the Ashanti Regional Minister to succeed in his line of duty.

The Queen Mothers made the pledged at their engagement with the Minister at the Regional Coordinating Council to discuss pressing issues that affects the traders in the city.

Madam Yaa Foriwaah, Queen Mother of Yam sellers at the engagement on behalf of the Queen Mothers cautioned the Minister to be very vigilant and strong to be guided against the rots at the various markets, especially the perceived Associations.
She entreated the Minister not to allow anybody to overshadow him in performing his responsibilities as the Minister.

Madam Foriwaah pleaded with the Minister that electricity bills are killing the traders at Kejetia especially those on table tops, and that they want individual’s metres from on Electricity Company of Ghana alone, and would not accept meters from any other company or individual.

The Queens tasked the Minister to ensure that the face two of the Central market, Krofrom Market are completed while the road leading to Racecourse is tarred to decongest the Central Business District (CBD) of Kumasi.
She expressed worry over the mismanagement of the New Kejetia and want full overhaul of the management and if possible change them and bring new management to ensure the effective management of the place.
The Queen Mothers urged the Minister to always consult them to contribute their quota to champion the welfare of the traders and the region as a whole.
Dr Frank Amoakohene, the Ashanti Regional Minister expressed gratitude to the Market Queens for expressing their readiness to support in the development of the region and seek the welfare of the traders in Kumasi.
According to him, he is not above criticism but would expect constructive criticism in line of his duties to move the region together.
He promised to meet with the Contractors working on the Krofrom Market to see the way forward by ensuring the completion for the occupants.
The Minister entreated them to always call on him when necessary to ensure effective collaboration for the total development of the Ashanti region.
