A group of National Democratic Congress (NDC) loyalists in Kintampo North, known as *Team Kumah for Ministerial Appointment,* has called on President-elect John Dramani Mahama to consider appointing their Member of Parliament (MP), Hon. Joseph Kwame Kumah, to a ministerial position in the incoming government.
In a statement issued on Monday, the group, led by Martin Anane Ababio, highlighted Kintampo’s unwavering support for the NDC since 1992, noting that the constituency has consistently voted for the party in every election. Despite this loyalty, they lamented that no individual from Kintampo has ever been appointed as a Presidential Staffer or Minister.
The group emphasized that Hon. Joseph Kwame Kumah, popularly known as Jakala, is a deserving candidate for such a role. They pointed to his dedication, hard work, and ability to connect with constituents as evidence of his suitability for a ministerial position.
“Hon. Joseph Kwame Kumah has demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to the development of Kintampo North. His appointment would not only recognize the constituency’s contributions to the NDC’s success but also inspire hope and strengthen the bond between the party and the people of Kintampo,” the statement read.
The group further argued that Kintampo North, a vital region in Ghana’s development, deserves representation at the national level. They believe appointing Hon. Kumah would symbolize fairness and inclusion in the Mahama-led government.
Kintampo North has played a significant role in the NDC’s victories over the years, and *Team Kumah for Ministerial Appointment* is optimistic that their appeal will be given the consideration it deserves.
