*HANNAT FOUNDATION GHANA, CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY WITH STUDENTS OF FOMENA T.I. AHMADIYYA SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL*

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, celebrated annually on 8th March, an empowering event took place at TI Ahmadiyya Senior High School, organized by HANNAT FOUNDATION GHANA, a local Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) focused on women empowerment.

The event aimed to inspire and educate young girls on setting achievable goals and the importance of women’s empowerment in society.

The event brought together girls from Ahmad House of Fomena TI Ahmadiyya Senior High School, and the director of the foundation, Ms Aisha Asantewaa Boadu with her team of volunteers, who delivered an engaging and insightful session on goal setting and women empowerment.

The event commenced with a warm welcome to all attendees, setting a positive and inclusive tone for the day’s activities.

Ms Boadu then took the stage and delivered a powerful keynote address on the significance of setting achievable goals and the role of young women in driving positive change in their communities.

She emphasized the importance of education, self-belief, and perseverance in reaching one’s goals rather than using one’s body as a bait to get what one desires. She shared personal experiences and success stories to inspire the girls, illustrating how determination and hard work can lead to success in various fields.

She encouraged the young girls to venture into male dominated areas such as engineering and politics by preparing holistically for such positions.

An interactive session was held where the girls had the opportunity to share their experiences and engage in meaningful discussions on women’s empowerment and goal setting. The session facilitated a supportive and encouraging environment, encouraging the girls to voice their thoughts and aspirations freely.

A spoken word written in honor of traders and women who engage in menial jobs was beautifully performed by Miss Baidawo Mohammed and Miss Ruhaima Pumaya Abdul Hakeem.
The event left a lasting impact on the attendees, empowering the girls with valuable insights and motivation to set ambitious yet achievable goals in their personal and professional lives. The girls expressed gratitude for the opportunity to learn from Ms Aisha Asantewaa Boadu, their mother, and were inspired to strive for excellence and contribute positively to society.

The event served as a reminder of the importance of women’s empowerment and the limitless potential of young girls to effect positive change in their communities. The empowerment and encouragement provided at the event will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on the girls, inspiring them to dream big and work towards a brighter future for themselves and those around them.

As part of the celebration, the Foundation decided to donate various items to market women of Dompoase market as a token of appreciation for their contributions to the community. This donation was only a token of refreshments, a gesture that was to symbolize love and to make these traders who are often neglected, feel recognized and appreciated.

The donation was met with gratitude and overwhelming joy from the market women, who expressed their appreciation for the recognition they received.

Overall, the celebration of International Women’s Day by HANNAT FOUNDATION GHANA, was a success, and it served as a powerful reminder of the importance of supporting and empowering women in all walks of life
