NADMO – ASOKWA EMBARKS ON A DISASTER PREVENTION INSPECTION PROGRAM TO SCHOOLS WITHIN THE ASOKWA MUNICIPALITY.

As part of activities in line with our Third Quarter Action Plan for 2023 to prevent and manage possible disasters within the Asokwa Municipality, a Team of NADMO Officers in five (5) different groups under the leadership of their Director Eric Akosah, has begun a 3 day’s inspection program to about 100 schools both public and private within the Asokwa Municipality from today Tuesday 5th of September, 2023 to Thursday 7th of September, 2023.

The aim of this inspection program is to among other things inspect the condition of school buildings (roofing, windows, walls, etc), the school’s environment and whether they are


closer to a river, stream or a major drain systems to prevent flooding situations due to the heavy rains the Municipality has been experiencing in recent times, solid and liquid waste disposal mechanism and other important facilities such as washrooms, kitchen and the conditions of vehicles used in transporting students to prevent any unforseen disasters.

Electoral Areas such as Kaase, Ahinsan, Ahinsan Estate, Atonsu, Agogo, Dompoase, Aprabon, Asokwa Newtown, Asokwa Extention, Gyinyase, Kuwait, Nahinso are the areas earmarked to be visited.

Full report containing observations, recommendations, and immediate actions to be taken shall be forwarded to the higher authorities immediately after the program ends.
