The Unit Committee Secretary for Ahinsan in the Asokwa Municipality of the Ashanti Region, Mr Amo Mensah has donated teaching and learning materials to Ahinsan M/A Basic School “A” and “B” as part of his birthday celebration.
The items include exercise books, pens, pencils, marker pens and erasers among others as part of his pledge to support and promote quality education in the community.
Mr Mensah is to augmenting government efforts to provide for the schools since it cannot do it alone due to the huge number of basic schools in the country.
“If we support schools, we are doing it for the country, and so, if these children grow up to be responsible citizens, it is for the betterment of us all,” Mr Mensah said.
He therefore, called on corporates and philanthropists to support schools in their various communities to lift and promote better and quality education in the country.
He encouraged the children to do their best and work hard despite the challenges of life and where they find themselves. He urged them not to allow anyone to detract them from their goal, to focus on their studies, and to pursue their ambitions with passion.
