Decision to reshuffled leadership undemocratic, Asawase NDC to NEC

The constituency Executives of the Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Asawasi constituency of the Ashanti egion express their unglinching for their Member of Parliaments (MPs) Muhammed Muntaka and and Haruna Iddrisu ,urging the National Executive Committee to recent their decision of reshuffling the minority leadership in Parliament.

Muggis Mahdi, the constituency who address the media stated that, the action is undemocratic as it lacks proper and wider consultation, which he said is against the rules of natural justice and biased against northerners and zongo people, says the current reshuffle seems to omit the name of those representing the people in the party
He was of the view that, whether or not the Council of Elders were consulted or the entire minority members of Parliament of the party were consulted,
Northerners as far as the fortunes of the party is concern since its inception in 1992 , both the Northern and zongos has been the voter basket of the partly till ddate.
He argued why couldn’t the party leadership wait for the presumptive leader of the party John Dramani Manama to be elected and consulted on such a major decision.
He underscored that, the action if not corrected could disturb the party’s fortunes in the 2024 general elections
He stressed that, they at the constituency and party as a whole know the hardworking and dedication of both Muntaka and Haruna Iddrisu especially on the 7th and 8th parliaments of Ghana which he said is evident hardwork and tactful strategies of Muntaka and Haruna that gave them Rt. Hon Slban Bagbin as Ghana’s speaker of the 8th Parliament, an enviable achievement which even the national leadership of the party doubled
He entreated the party to withdraw the changes with immediate effect and do the needful, because to them as supporters of the party is aware that, the two member’s of Parliament are institutions within the party and for that matter, need not be treated as ssuch.
