AGRIC MINSTER’s INITIATIVES TO REDUCE FOOD PRICE INFLATION IS A JOKE – ERIC OPOKU

Ranking member of Food, Agriculture and Cocoa Affairs Committee and member of parliament MP for Asunafo South in Ahafo regoin ,Hon. Eric Opoku has described effort of the Agric Minister to make food available and to cheap to Ghanaians by setting up mini market as a joke.
Speaking with kingdomnewsgh.com in parliament he explained that the factors that contribute to high food inflation in the country has not being tackle, so what that Minister think he is doing will not solve the main problem.
According to him , most of agricultural input are imported into the and instead of the to give to the farmers fully subsided , government rather take 15% of of the cost the fertilisers and the farmers are paid the 85% of the cost .
“There is a need for the government to take a critical look at the agricultural sector in a holistic manner to be able to reduce the hardship impose on the Ghanaians.
