*I Know My Heart; The President and Government I Serve Knows My Contribution* .

The Majority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu (Hon MP, Suame), has bemoaned the behaviour of critics who claim he is playing hanky-panky in solving the disagreement between some Majority Members of Parliament on oneside and the President/Party on the other, over the sacking of the finance minister, Mr Kenneth Kuntunkruku Ofori-Atta.

Speaking to what had actually transpired between himself, the President, the NPP Party and the aggrieved Members of Parliament on Sompa Fm’s Morning Show with Omanhene Yaw Adu Boakye on Tuesday 15th of November, 2022, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu wondered why his sleepless nights and relentless effort geared toward finding common grounds for the MP’s and Government Business (both of which he is the Leader) could be interpreted as such. He said this lacks the depth of wisdom with which people should evaluate leadership.

The Majority Leader asked what could have been the position of those criticizing had they been found in his shoes in such a dilemma. He said the current situation demands of him to ensure expectations of the constituents through their MPs are addressed, whilst, at the same time, ensuring that the name and image of the Presidency, government and that of NPP is not dragged in the mud.

The astute politician/legislator quoted articles in the constitution to buttress why the Leadership thinks fundamental human rights of the finance minister would be infringed upon if he is not offered opportunity to appear in-person, or through his chosen lawyers, to defend himself before any Censure proceedings can be given credence.

The Majority Leader therefore urged Ghanaians to trash such baseless and unfounded allegations and concentrate on finding pragmatic solutions to the current economic predicament we find ourselves in globally.
