Account for your stewardship to the people – Asantehene tells Akufo-Addo

The overlord of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has urged President Nana Akufo-Addo to account to the Ghanaian people.

The King said accounting for his stewardship will help the people to appreciate the success of the NPP administration.

Otumfuo made this statement on Sunday, October 16, 2022 when President Akufo-Addo called on him at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.

The visit to Manhyia was to mark the beginning the president’s four-day official visit to the Ashanti Region.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu said it was good that the President was in the region to inspect development projects undertaken by the government and wished him well on his visit.

Projects

On his part, Akufo-Addo recounted some important projects his government has undertaken in the region which is considered to be the stronghold of the governing New patriotic Party (NPP).

Some of the projects, he said was the rehabilitation of some roads in Kumasi and some parts of the region amounting to over 300 kilometres.

The President after the visit proceeded to Konongo to commission the 60-bed Asante Akim Municipal Hospital.

Speaking at the commissioning of the hospital on Sunday, President Akufo-Addo stressed that “I am not referring to CHPS compounds and health centres, I am talking specifically about hospital projects”.
