*Support PWDs to enhance their livelihoods*

The Presiding Member for Ahafo Ano South West District Assembly and a member of the international relations committee of NALAG, Hon Eric Agyekum has appealed to corporate bodies to support Persons living with Disabilities (PWD’s) to enhance their livelihoods.

He said this when the social welfare and community development department of the Ahafo Ano South West District Assembly presented items and cash to people living with disabilities in the district to support their livelihood.

Hon Eric Agyekum expressed government’s commitment towards empowering people living with disabilities.

He said despite the challenges of the PWDs, they are capable of doing something economically to fend for themselves and that is why government has allocated three percent of the District Assembly’s Common Fund to PWDs to enable them do something meaningful and earn a good living.

“Government can not do it alone so corporate bodies should support PWDs to make life meaningful for them” he said. He charged the beneficiaries to put the items and cash to a meaningful use.
