ASARE BEDIAKO TO PULL A SURPRISE IN ASHANTI CHAIRMANSHIP ELECTIONS.

Checks by this outfit across the 47 constituencies in the Ashanti Region reveal an interesting outcome in Friday’s chairmanship elections of the New Patriotic Party (NPP)

Respondents and in this case constituency executives in the hinterlands of the region seemed to have a soft spot for the veteran politician and former Chairman of Asokwa NPP, Mr Asare Bediako.

They said but for his late decision to step down in the 2018 elections he would have been the regional chairman now.

His entry, they noted was late but noted that he has the experience and capacity to treat constituency executives better than what the incumbent has subjected them to for the past 8 years.

ISSUES:
Some of the respondents said the veteran politician had convinced them by his ten point agenda.

They pointed to his welfare policy and said that is what will make them settle on him on voting day.

Others said he will be the compromise candidate because he seemed to tower above those who are in the contest in terms of experience and fatherly-figure.

Responded in the Bekwai enclave said they would settle for Mr Asare Bediako when they find him on the ballot on voting day.

They noted that the message he delivered during his tour was solid and one that spoke to their needs.

DYNAMICS:
Respondents from the Amansie enclave as well as Ahafo, Mampong and Asante Akyem were upbeat about the chances of the former Asokwa Chairman.

Some noted that the incumbent, Bernard Antwi Bosiako and Odeneho Kwaku Appiah seemed to be stealing the limelight but the one whose message resonated to them was that of the veteran politician, Asare Bediako.

TWISTS:
From the reports this portal is getting, in the Kumasi Metropolis, votes would be split between the top 4 front runners namely Antwi Bosiako, Odeneho Appiah, Asare Bediako and Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, former Ejisu MP.

The deciding factor would be the input from the Members of Parliament as well as the tertiary wing of the party, popularly called TESCON which had about 60 persons on the voter album.

In summary, the elections would be too close to call and the voting day tricks and strategies would largely sway delegates to endorse the best out of the three front runners, Antwi Bosiako, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah and Chairman Asare Bediako.
