A New Patriotic Party aspirant for the Asokwa Constituency chairmanship has promised to bridge the gap between the party and government machinery when elected chairman.
Mr Kwaku Poku Fosu made the promise in his declaration statement to executives of the party for consideration in the upcoming constituency elections.
Mr Kwaku Poku Fosu regrets that sacrifices by party members, especially, the youth often end up in vain after electoral victory.
He said is due to poor linkage between the grassroots party leadership and government machinery.
According to the aspirant, the absence of transparent and open linkage between the two party structures often create mistrust among party members and leaders.
He noted that dissatisfied members usually shift loyalty to trusted individuals resulting in factions and camps within the frontline of the party.
Mr Fosu said the Asokwa constituency has suffered such leadership crisis over the years that has undermined unity in the constituency.
K k Fosu said his quest for chairmanship is to help build a united constituency make it formidable in the ‘breaking the eight’ agenda come 2024.
Mr Fosu said he is so far encouraged by the support received from members across the length and breadth of the party in the constituency.
The chairman hopeful stressed he has what it takes to lead the constituency considering his contributions to the party at both national and constituency levels.
He declared resolve to liaise with the MP and MCE lobbying for scholarships and job opportunities for youth in the constituency.
K K fosu pledged to strengthen grassroots activities of the party by creating a database that identifies and reward hardworking members accordingly.
Mr Fosu called on members of the party in the constituency to give him the mandate to manage the affairs of the constituency in the coming elections.
