Hundreds of police men were said to had storm the Asafo magazine to evacuate over 400 mechanics and spare parts dealers under the unauthorised directive of the chief of Dadeesoaba Nana Kofi Atobrah II.
According to an account from some leading members of the mechanics, the chief of Dadesoaba Nana Kofi Atobrah II within his own powers, is claiming the land on which they have live and work for more than 50 years without putting up any proper measures to compensate them.
Nana Appiah Marfo, a leading member of the group in briefing the Media, stressed that without giving a prior notice to evacuate them, the chief is said to had hired carpenters to barricade the area under the guards of the armed police men without allowing them to pack out their things.
This was said to had cause agitation among the mechanics and police with some being arrested into police custody.
They are hereby appealing to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, regional minister Hon Simon Osei Mensah, and KMA boss Hon Samuel Pyne to immediately intervene on their behalf to secure a working space to continue with their job.
Some workers also expressed their grievance to the Media on the situation and disclosed how unbearable life will be to them if they lose their jobs
