Communication team member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashanti Region Joshua Kwame Fugah says the E-Levy tax introduced by the government is over ambitious.
He noted that every financial consultant should be worried about the 2022 budget because the policies will decrease financial inclusion. Fugah indicated that every budget is made for the people and it must ease the burden of the people but the funds allocated to capex(capital expenditure) in the 2022 budget is very minimal and will only be used to settle interest loans, wages and compensations and statutory payments. This means the government of the day does not have Ghanaians at heart.
“The 2022 budget has no hope but rather it will increase the economic hardship of the people of Ghana”, he said.
According to him, the Akufo-Addo government which had fortunately inherited a lot of resources had gone ahead to roll out insensitive taxes on Ghanaians in this covid-19 pandemic times.
Speaking to Kingdom newsgh.com, he said the NPP government has nothing better for Ghanaians thus must be booted out in 2024.
